Google Maps app

Google Maps app with information for Volunteers on Lesvos, made by Zora O'Neill.
Spots to shop, sleep, etc, plus refugee camps marked.
GPS works on your phone almost all the time.... So if you can't view the website go to Google Maps app.

And this is how to add the map to your phone, so the points on it pop up all the time:

  1. Download the Google Maps app, if you don't already have it.
  2. In a browser, go here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=z-ozuiaaxdI0.k_i9jy-QReBQ&hl=en
  3. In the line next to the map's title, click the little star. This saves it to "My Maps."
  4. In the Google Maps app, tap on the little menu icon to the left of the search bar.
  5. Tap 'Your places.' Scroll down. You should see "Information for Volunteers on..." with a red pinpoint.
  6. Tap the pinpoint, and the map will open in your phone.
  7. From here on, the map points should stay loaded in your phone.

GPS works on your phone almost all the time, even if you don't have a phone signal. While you're hooked up to wi-fi, browse around the map, zooming in and out. This will save all the information in the cache, so when you're out later, it will load faster, and you will be able to see it even if you have no signal.

With thanks to Zora O'Neill who keeps the Google Map up-to-date!
